Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the shop:

  • Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts the store and processes orders.
  • Payment providers — Shopify Payments, Klarna and Clearpay, who process payments and carry out their own fraud and credit checks under their own privacy policies.
  • Delivery partners — including Evri, Royal Mail and DHL, who receive the name, address and contact details needed to deliver your parcel.
  • Email and marketing tools — to send order confirmations and, where you've consented, newsletters.
  • Analytics and advertising partners — including Google and Meta, where you've accepted the relevant cookies.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where we're required to by law.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on International Data Transfer Agreements and Standard Contractual Clauses to keep your information protected to UK standards.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for seven years to meet HMRC requirements. Account details are kept while your account is open and for a reasonable period after. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Customer service correspondence is kept for up to three years.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate information corrected
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we have no ongoing lawful reason to keep it
  • Ask us to restrict how we use it
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests
  • Ask for your information in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, including for marketing

To exercise any of these, email info@hugehoods.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Marketing emails

We'll only send marketing emails if you've opted in. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. Unsubscribing from marketing won't stop transactional emails such as order confirmations and dispatch notices.

Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work, such as remembering your cart and keeping you logged in. With your consent we also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, and advertising cookies to measure our marketing and show relevant ads. You can change your preferences at any time through the cookie settings on our site, or by blocking cookies in your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.

Children

Although we sell kids' clothing, our site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
